Dr. Weibo Niu is a professor at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. He was born in Xi’an, a famous ancient capital city with a history of over 3100 years. He graduated from the FMMU and got a Ph.D. degree at the Shandong University. His Ph.D. advisor is Prof. Jun Niu, a famous expert in general surgery of Shandong Province. Dr. Niu ’s research group has focused great attention on integrin αvβ6 research for more than a decade and published many high-quality SCI papers, such as in the fields of colon cancer, gastric carcinoma, and pancreatic cancer. Dr. Weibo Niu has extensive surgical work experience for over 25 years. He is good at all kinds of abdominal surgeries, especially in the field of minimally invasive surgery. He is vice director at the institute of laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery of Shandong university.

In 2016 Dr. Weibo Niu had been awarded a scholarship under the State Scholarship Fund. He worked in Molecular and Cellular Oncology Department as a Visiting Scientist starting from December 2, 2016 to December 1, 2017 in the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. MD Anderson is the best hospital in cancer care in the world. Dr. Niu’ s tutor in America is Professor Laura Beretta, who is a very famous specialist in the field of hepatocellular carcinoma in the world. Dr. Niu had been working on molecular mechanism for the surveillance, treatment and prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma. He attended many training courses and performed the mouse liver tumor models during this period. He also insisted on attending the Liver Tumor Study Group which was held every week. He got lots of achievements and was highly praised by his tutor.

Till now Dr. Weibo Niu has published more than 10 SCI papers. He got several funding grands from the National and Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation. He also got several awards for scientific advancement of Shandong Province. Generally speaking, Dr. Weibo Niu is a person with strongly self-motivated and enthusiastic.
